Set in over two and a half acres of woodland, with 230 feet of private oceanfront, this handcrafted log retreat provides a tranquil setting for peaceful relaxation. This is an ideal location for a honeymoon or romantic getaway. It is equally well suited for 2-3 couples to share an executive home while exploring Canada's Ocean Playground. Come back from a day of travel to the sounds of a babbling brook and restful ocean views.
The open concept main floor has vaulted ceilings with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the ocean views. The kitchen is a delight with new state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances and a view of the ocean. Your dining companions can sit around the island while you prepare fresh lobster caught by local fisherman in Prospect Bay.
The antique dining table seats six and the living room area has comfortable seating for six. Two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with a queen sized bed) and a full bathroom, with a shower/tub, complete the main floor.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with a king sized log-frame bed. This bright room has a vaulted ceiling, skylight windows and a ceiling fan to keep you cool on warm summer nights. The master bedroom boasts a large walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a large bubble-jet tub.
The spacious basement has large windows and doors to the garden. Here you will find comfortable furniture if you choose to sit back, relax and watch a DVD. A third bathroom, with shower, and laundry facilities complete the ground floor.
Outside, the large wrap-around deck is the perfect place to relax, listen to the loons, and enjoy a glass of wine from one of Nova Scotia's many award-winning wineries. Or barbeque your meals on the gas grill and dine outdoors under the umbrella of the patio table.
Follow the meandering paths through the trees to the waterfront, where at low tide there is a sandy area for launching your kayak or even taking a dip. The private waterfront 'cabano' is a perfect location for sitting and reading while listening to the water lapping at the shoreline.
Location
Bayview Lodge is located in Prospect, which is a 25 minute drive from Halifax and a 45 minute drive from the airport. The nearest large grocery stores and shopping malls are 20 minutes away in Halifax, however there is a great local convenience store which carries all of the basics, 5 minutes down the road. Granite Springs Golf Course is a 10 minute drive away.
