Built over 150 years ago, Driftwood House is a very special, old and lovingly restored cottage. Surrounded on both sides by mature trees and looking out towards a sheltered bay and the ocean beyond, this cottage is ideal for visitors looking for a relaxing oceanfront retreat.
The main floor is open concept with a three-sided wood burning fireplace facing into the country style kitchen, living room and dining area. The cosy living room is decorated with antiques and comfortable leather furniture. The dining table is surrounded by large windows so that you can fully enjoy the view of Indian Harbour and the Paddy's Head lighthouse. The newly renovated kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary tools. The bathroom sits in front of a large window, so that you can literally soak up the view from the deluxe bubble-jet tub. A small office with a desk and sofa completes the main floor.
Upstairs you will find a large master bedroom with a queen sized timber frame bed, as well as a smaller bedroom with a double bed overlooking the open ocean. There is also a second 3 piece bathroom upstairs.
Stroll down to the waterfront through the shared cottage gardens and take in the fresh ocean air. The private rocky shoreline boasts one of the most beautiful views in all of Nova Scotia.
This unique two-acre property is home to three separate cottages: Ross Roost, Driftwood House, and Cottage by the Sea, all of which share the gardens and waterfront. This property is well suited for groups of up to 10 people, or each cottage can be rented separately.
Location
Driftwood House is minutes drive from the famous rocks and lighthouse of Peggy's Cove, and a 20 minute drive to Tantallon where you will find all the amenities. Halifax is a 40 minute drive away. There are several beaches nearby, the closest being Paddy's Head, which is considered one of the best diving locations in Nova Scotia, only a short walk away.
