Description

Hideaway Haven is a newly restored home which overlooks the charming Modesty Cove of Indian Harbour. It is the perfect place for a family holiday or romantic getaway. There are three bedrooms so there is plenty of room for up to six people. The view is of a typical quiet Nova Scotian cove with colourful fish houses and the occasional fishing boat going past.

3D Showcase

The main floor with the kitchen, dining area and living room is open plan. Large windows overlook the lawn and water and make for a bright and spacious area you will not want to leave! Enjoy the large deck off the living room to take full advantage of the view or enjoy a barbeque and dinner al fresco. The lawn below leads to the waterfront where there is a rocky beach.

The handmade kitchen has all the tools you'll need to cook up a storm (better inside than out!). Fully equipped with an island, stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and even some necessary utensils should you decide to cook up a lobster feast. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a washer and dryer. You will no doubt appreciate the large windows all around the house - the view is a picture worth a thousand words!

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a full bathroom with tub/shower. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and large windows to enjoy the view. The second bedroom is bright and airy and has a queen sized bed. The third and smallest bedroom has a double bed.

Hideaway Haven is located in Indian Harbour, just minutes from Peggy's Cove. It is a 30 minute drive to Halifax. Tantallon, (20 minutes drive) has all the amenities you will need (grocery stores, liquor store, public library, gas stations, movie rentals, etc.)

Beautiful Cottage

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it looks exactly like the photos. The location is perfect, so close to Peggy's Cove that we would go there just for coffee. The bay is a perfect spot to go kayaking. The cottage is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped for meal preparation. Jeanne was amazing, from the time we booked and checked out. She responded to our questions any issue very quickly. We had a situation where we couldn't find a lighter and within an hour or so, she had someone dropped one off. Now that is service. Thank you Jeanne!

Hideaway Haven - Indian Harbour, Nova Scotia

Next year will be our 4th summer visit to Hideaway Haven. The cottage is beautiful and clean, the kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The management team provides plenty of information of local interest. There are a number of restaurants not far from the cottage, and a major grocery store is at the Head of the Bay about 20 minutes away. Halifax, the provincial capital, is an easy 50 minute drive. Kayaking, fishing or just sightseeing in Indian Harbor, Peggy Cove and the Dover area is awesome. The cottage is right at the water’s edge on a small cove off St. Margaret’s Bay, with granite and spruce all around. Jeanne and Scott are a delight to work with and readily available to answer any questions you may have.

Excellent Stay, Exactly as Advertised

My family had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home! The home was exactly as advertised on the website, everything was clean and the beds were quite comfortable. The procedure for getting in the house was communicated through the VRBO website and quite simple. Lots of information concerning garbage/recycling and local cuisine in the house. The fire pit was great in the evening...we made s'mores and just enjoyed the wonderful weather. Our two young boys ages 7&6 had lots to do. We were also lucky to see three deer at different times near our vehicle in the driveway! Actually right behind the boat in the picture. We swam and kayaked every day, just a perfect week! We did so much more and this property was the perfect place to start the day. We most certainly will stay here again, should the opportunity arise in the future! Jeanne was so helpful as was Scott. Great people and a great place to stay in Nova Scotia! Can't say enough!

The Cartans (Timmins, Ontario)
This was indeed a haven for us.

We drove from Timmins in Northern Ontario, and it took us several days to get here. We all agree that it was worth the trip. The colours and furnishings are so welcoming. It is lovely to be so near the water. The area is a delight. Our family was blessed to stay here. Thanks!

The Egans
I can't express our awe for this beautiful home.

It's just beautiful! We had an extended vacation with our family after a wedding. We had such a wonderful time. Everyone delighted being in an old renovated home. Your floors upstairs are awesome. Your coffee table a piece of history. We enjoyed a campfire at night and just were taken aback by the beautiful scenery. Again, thank you very much for opening your home to us. We have many, many happy memories to revisit over the coming years.
