The Ruby Jean Cottage

The Ruby Jean Cottage is a delightful two bedroom, oceanfront cottage. The owners, who reside on the same 3.5 acre property, have lovingly decorated this cottage and offered access across their yard so that our guests can share their gorgeous private sandy beach and large wharf.

The main living area is open plan, with the living room, kitchen and dining area all enjoying views down to the water. Hardwood floors, luxurious furniture and unique art give this cottage a very homey feeling. There are two lovely bedrooms; one with a queen sized bed and the other with a bunkbed (single over double). The bathroom, with tub/shower combo and a mud room with laundry machines complete this home away from home.

Outside, a private deck allows space for reflecting, reading, or cooking on the propane barbeque. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, the panoramic ocean views will take your breath away.

The cottage sits on a large property facing the clear waters of St Margarets Bay. The enormous beachside jetty offers not only superb anchorage but it acts as a breakwater, creating a perfectly sheltered hideaway for family picnics and beach fun. The crystal clear water is great for swimming or cast your line off the wharf and hook a mackerel. The sheltered cove opens up to the deep waters of St. Margaret’s Bay, known for its world-class sailing and beautiful beaches.

Outdoor enthusiasts will be enchanted with this property as well as the location. Be sure to bring your kayak, or take a tour with one of the local outdoor adventure outfits, as this area has so much rugged coastline, beautiful islands and amazing sea life to be enjoyed. It is not uncommon to see dolphins, whales and even sunfish – to name a few.

Breezeway Lodge - An Event Location

Breezeway Lodge is an event location unlike any other. Situated on a large oceanfront property, twenty minutes from Halifax, it is a fully equipped venue that can be rented by the day, for up to 25 people. Perfect for a corporate event, small ceremony or family reunion - there are so many possibilities.

The main room will take your breath away. The 20 foot ceiling adorned with custom made chandeliers, the incredible beach stone fireplace, a wall of windows that opens up to expose a covered patio that stretches the length of the building, a fully equipped kitchenette and a lovely two piece bathroom are just a few of the features. All this with an amazing ocean view.

Not available for overnight stays, Breezeway Lodge is purely an event location to rent for a day. It is on the same property as the Ruby Jean Cottage and the Horseshoe House is just next door.

Rate will be dependent on event and number of people.
